The Battle Of Yorktown!

The Battle of Yorktown involves the Americans and the French. The French were on the American side to defeat the British. The battle took place in Yorktown, Virgina October 1781. The war had about 1,700 people. At least twenty one Americans died, And at least fifty-six were injured. Fifty three people died on the French side, And one- hundred were injured! As for the British they didn't look so good two-hundred twenty four were killed and injured. The Battle of Yorktown happened, because General Washington heard news of an encampment controlled by Lord Cornwallis. Washington seized on this perfect opportunity to regain control of Yorktown. The reason the British surrenderd because the Americans had nine-thousand land troops. Many of the people that Yorktown went up against in Battle surrendered because they had so many people.

- The American Commander were Daniel Morgan & Nathanial Green.
- The Siege of Yorktown effectively ended the six-year struggle of the Revolutionary War and set the stage for a new government and nation.
- Lord Cornwallis sailed from New York with a fleet of 90 ships and 850 soldiers to take control of the south. The British had several major victories.
